Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD) is responsible for the pension administration of the Defined Benefit Scheme (DBS). PTAD was established to address the numerous pensioners’ complaints that bother on issues such as non-payment of monthly pension, short payment of pension and gratuity, removal of name on pension payment voucher, non-payment of harmonized pension arrears, irregular payment of federal pensions and non receipt of pension after retirement, etc.

Empowered by Section 30, Sub Section (2a) of the Amended Pension Reform Act, 2004, and it will take over the management of three of the offices presently running the old pension scheme. These are the Civil Service Pension Department, the Police Pension Office and the Customs, Immigration and Prisons Pension Office (CIPPO).
it has come to our notice that fraudsters disguising as PTAD staff have been calling and texting pensioners soliciting for money to facilitate and fast track their pension payments.
Please be aware that PTAD will never request for cash to process your pension. Do not give money to anybody. Pension payment is free.

Full Instruction for Registration
Facial Confirmation:
- The Pensioner will log on to PTAD website: www.ptad.gov.ng using a smart phone/computer system, click on the “I AM ALIVE” icon at the top of the page and follow the instructions.
- Start the “I Am Alive” confirmation process following the 2 steps validation process:
i. Enter your pensioners number;
ii. Enter your Bank account number. - Take your photo (it will be validated with the existing picture in the PTAD database).
- Perform the aliveness check by moving your face to follow the moving object on the screen.
- When the aliveness check is completed, confirmation page will display “Successful”
- The pensioner will receive an SMS notification of the successful completion of the process.
Fingerprint Confirmation:
- The pensioner will need to access a computer system with finger print device for finger print capturing.
- Log on to PTAD website: www.ptad.gov.ng, click on the “I Am Alive” icon at the top of the page and follow the instruction.
- Start the “I Am Alive” confirmation process following the 2 steps validation process:
i. Enter your pensioners number;
ii. Enter your Bank account number. - Finger print validation (Place any of your finger on the finger print device for capturing).
- If the finger print is successfully captured, it will display “Successful”
- When the aliveness check is completed, the pensioner will receive an SMS notification of the successful completion.
