A citizen of a foreign country who wishes to enter Vietnam country must first of all obtain a visa. VISA will determine who you are and your entry purpose either for permanent residence or temporary stay.

All Nigerian citizens need a visa to enter Vietnam, no matter where they are. Additionally, to enter Vietnam, the Nigerian passport holders need to ensure:
- The Nigerian passport is valid for at least 06 months following the arrival date; and
- The Nigerian passport has at least 02 blank pages.

2) Business visa : It is for Business purpose and it is in two (2) categories: DN1 and DN2 visa.
- DN1 visa – to be granted to foreigners who work with other businesses and organizations with legal status in accordance with the laws of Vietnam.
- DN2 visa – to be granted to foreigners who come to Vietnam to offer services, establish a commercial presence or perform other activities under international treaties to which Vietnam is a member.

Currently, There are two ways of getting a visa to Vietnam especially for citizens and passport holders of Nigeria which are:
1. Get Embassy Visa: Nigerian passport holders can get a visa at Vietnam embassy in Nigeria or any embassy/consulate of Vietnam in other countries where they are residing or traveling.
2. Get Visa on Arrival (Recommended): The best way to get a visa for visitors from Nigeria (including Nigerian citizens and passport holders) who are traveling to Vietnam by air is to get Visa on Arrival (VOA) as it requires no travel or contact with the embassy for application.
Requirement for Vietnam Visa:
- Completed application form;
- Passport-type photograph: 2 photos sized 4 x 6
- And sponsor letter from Vietnam-based company (for business visa)
