Ebonyi State University, Abakaliki (EBSU) is one of the recognized state funding University since it was established in 2000, the school performance proves as one of the best university that serves Ebonyi State and it contains the maximum number of students both postgraduate and undergraduate.
The main campus of the school is located in Enugu-Abakaliki Rd, Ntezi Abba, Abakaliki one of the city in Ebonyi State, Nigeria. It offers their students Bachelor Degree (B.Sc) after the completion of studies and also enrols in compulsory National Youth Service Corp (NYSC) which qualify them Discharge, Exclusion and Exemption certificate.
Ebonyi State University, Abakaliki (EBSU) has been officially accredited by the National Universities Commission (NUC), Nigeria.

Aims
1. To encourage the advancement of learning in the Ebonyi State of Nigeria in particular and Nigeria in general and to hold out to all persons, without distinction as to race, creed or sex, the opportunity of acquiring higher education
2. To provide facilities (as its resources permit) and to make it available for the pursuit of learning, especially such facilities that would give training that has concrete relevance to the needs of our society.
3. To foster the spirit of creativity, inventiveness, resourcefulness and patriotism.
4. To encourage and promote scholarship and conduct research in all fields of learning and human endeavour;
5. To relate its activities to the social, cultural and economic needs of the people of Nigeria in particular and the world in general.
