TheĀ Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, the Department of Disaster Management and Social Development On Monday, concluded a three-month training program for N-Build Batch C1 beneficiaries and distributed starter kits to N-Power beneficiaries under the Federal Government’s National Social Investment Program.

The Minister, Sadiya Umar Faroug, who presented the tool kits to the beneficiaries on Wednesday at the FOCI Skills Academy, Katampe Abuja, stated that the training, which has been replicated in 693 centres across the country’s six geopolitical zones, is aimed at equipping young unemployed youths with life skills.4

The skills you learned over the last three months will be useful today and tomorrow in any global economy. The Ministry, NSIPN-Power teams, and other relevant councils have worked tirelessly to ensure that this contributes to closing the skills gap between standard and market relevant skills.

As this batch C1 of N-Build trainees graduates to begin their apprenticeship, in accordance with Mr. President’s commitment to creating more jobs and wealth creation opportunities for the teeming youths, the batch C2 of the N-Power programme will be deployed to their respective places of primary assignments and training centers in the coming weeks, all with the goal of lifting 100 million Nigerians out of poverty.

According to the Minister, each beneficiary received Tool Kits, Safety Gear, and Training Consumables to enable them to become and operate as skilled professional artisans and technicians. She charged them with making the best use of the training provided to them.

After completing the in-center training, you will be assigned to relevant institutions for a six-month apprenticeship. This attachment will allow you to gain work-based learning experience beginning Monday, June 13th, 2022.

During this six-month attachment period, the Council of Registered Builders of Nigeria (CORBON), the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC), and the Institute of Tourism Professionals of Nigeria (ITPN) will assess and examine your performance.

The beneficiaries were trained in automobile, Agric Tech, Carpentry & Joinery, Electrical Installation, Masonry & Tiling, Plumbing and Pipefitting.

In addition, the Minister visited the Industrial Trust Fund Centre to present tool kits and starter packs to beneficiaries trained in Hospitality, which included Baking and Confectionery, Cooking and Catering, Housekeeping, and Mixology.

Prof. Kabiru Bala, Vice Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University, Olubunmi Adekoje, Director General of the Federation of Construction Industry, Dr. Umar Bindir, Team Lead N-Power Mr. Nsikak Okon, and other distinguished guests were in attendance.
