How to Apply World Heritage Residence Scholarship 2024| The UNESCO has open portal for World Heritage Residence Scholarship 2024, The Scholarship is aimed for individuals who have an idea related to the UNESCO World Heritage list and are interested to connect the World Heritage site Decorated Farmhouses of Hälsingland with other World Heritage sites in an artistic, cultural or researching way.

The World Heritage Residence Scholarship is to create links between people and promote international cooperation with peace as a central concept as well as supports these important ideas, generating interest and understanding for humankind’s common memory through World Heritage sites. Gävleborg therefore regularly searches for new ideas to establish artistic and creative contacts between the Decorated Farmhouses of Hälsingland with other World Heritage sites around the world combined with culture, music, art and much more.
Region Gävleborg awards the Residence Scholarship to a person who has an idea related to the UNESCO World Heritage list and can connect the World Heritage site Decorated Farmhouses of Hälsingland to another World Heritage site in an artistic, cultural or researching way.
The World Heritage Residence Scholarship consists of two parts:
- A one-month residence at one of Hälsinglands seven World Heritage farms
- To describe well how it connects World Heritage sites. Meanwhile, the Decorated Farmhouses of Hälsingland should be a source of inspiration.
Grant:
- Staying and living in one or two World Heritage farms for a period of one month
- A grant of ap. 4.500 euro (50.000 SEK) to carry out the idea/project in question
Eligibility:
- The scholarship is international and can be applied for by people from all over the world.
- Only last year, more than 350 researchers, artists and other cultural actors applied from 60 different countries and submitted applications showcasing projects in all different shapes, including research, virtual reality, conservation, film, audio, dance, photo, storytelling, communication, sculpture , teaching, and handicraft.
- It is important to illustrate the idea behind the project clearly and to describe well how it connects World Heritage sites.
How to Apply UNESCO World Heritage Residence Scholarship 2024
Applications can be made through Gävleborg Region’s website. It is mandatory to answer all questions in the application form. If your application is not complete, it will be considered invalid. Please fill in the form and be so specific as you can about your project.
