International Student Requirement
The Blinn College District is only eligible through SEVIS to issue I-20’s to F-1 Visa status students. Other visa types may have specific requirements and restrictions
Students who do not currently have a visa but are seeking the F-1 visa to study at Blinn College in either the associate or career/technical applied science degree programs. Applicants applying from their home country typically fall into this category. This also includes students that previously had an I-20 but it is no longer active.
- Blinn College Application (Apply Texas ) :
Make sure the name on your application matches the name as it appears on your passport. If it is different than how it appears on your transcript, please notify us. - Confirmation of Financial Resources :
Students must be able to guarantee that they currently have the funds available to cover the cost of one academic year. These documents cannot be accepted via email or fax. J-2 visa holders may turn in their DS-2019 to complete this requirement. - English Proficiency Test Scores:
- Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)- Scores must be sent directly from ETS; student copies will not be accepted. To have scores sent directly to Blinn use institution code 6043 (Code corresponds with Blinn College-Brenham. Bryan Campus students will send their scores to this code as well).
- Internet-based (IBT): 61 or higher
- Computer-based (CBT): 173 or higher
- Paper-based (PBT): 500 or higher
- International English Language Testing System (IELTS) –
- (5.5 or higher)
- Texas Success Initiative Assessment (TSIA):
Students will need to have their skills in Reading, Writing, and Mathematics assessed prior to enrolling in college-level coursework at Blinn. Students who do not meet the minimum passing standards will be required to follow a developmental education program designed to help them achieve college-level readiness. - Transcripts:
- Entering Freshmen: Final official high school transcript and Certified English Translation.
or - University Student: Official university transcript and Certified English Translation.

Biography page which includes picture and date of birth information. Original will be required to be shown at orientation. - Proof of Bacterial Meningitis Vaccination:
Your name and date of birth must be included on the record. The shot must have been taken within the last 5 years. Individuals 22 years and older are exempt. - $200 Non-Refundable Application Fee:
Students will be sent an online link via email once all other admissions items are complete. Alternatively, you may pay by check drawn on a United States bank or by money order. Please make all checks and money orders payable to “Blinn College.” - Mandatory International Student Orientation Registration:
All new and transfer international students are required to attend the International Orientation. Follow the link above to fill out the registration form. - On-Campus Room Assignment (Brenham Campus Only):
If you have applied to the Brenham Campus and wish to live on campus, you will need to apply for housing. Please visit this website for more information: www.blinn.edu/housing - I-20 Finalization Form:
Once students have completed all admissions requirements, they will receive an email to complete the finalization form in order to issue the I-20.
Transfer F-1 Student
Students who are currently enrolled at another U.S. institution and have a valid F-1 student visa. This also includes students transferring directly to Blinn from an authorized English language institute (ELI).

Students must print the Transfer-in form and have the DSO at their current institution complete and submit it to Blinn to officially transfer the SEVIS record between schools. - $200 Non-Refundable Application Fee:

Co-Enrolled International Student
International students with an unexpired I-20 who wish to take one or more courses at Blinn College while remaining in full-time status at another college or university.

Written authorization from the institution which issued the I-20. Students should consult with their current International Advisor for details on how to obtain authorization. This must be submitted each semester for which the student intends to take courses. - Copies of Immigration Documents:

Other Visa Type: International Student
International students who hold a different visa type beyond F-1; such as F-2, E-2, J-2, H-4. B-visa holders are not able to enroll under a B-visa designation and must change to a different visa designation prior to enrolling in classes.
