About Ian Parry
He was a British photographer and photojournalist who worked as a freelance and on assignment for newspapers. He died at the age of 24 in an aircraft crash in Romania while on duty. Aidan Sullivan, Picture Editor and Ian’s Friends and Family introduced the Ian parry Scholarship so as to improve positive impact and personal transformation for remembrance of the death.

Open to young photographers who are either attending full-time photographic courses or are under 24 years.
How To apply
- A covering letter including your name, date of birth, permanent address, personal email address, personal phone number and if applicable, college course title and course tutor.
- A detailed project proposal explaining your proposed project and outlining what the $3500 would enable you to shoot. It should be noted that this written section is considered extremely important. The judge will need to be impressed by your ability to produce a convincing project proposal as well as your photography skills.
- A portfolio of 12 (Low resolution) photographs.
- Extended captions for each image as a word documents.
