Position:
1) Senior Lecturer, Mass Communication (Full-Time & Part-Time):
Job Responsibilities:
- Must Ensure that course design and delivery comply with the quality standards and regulations of the university and department.
- To Lead research and/or innovation proposals and projects with the potential to generate income, manage project deliverables, deliver outputs and secure impact.
- Must Work with university stakeholders to identify sources of research funding and lead the process of securing funds.
- Manage the delivery of individual and/or collaborative research projects on time and on budget.
- Apply knowledge acquired from research and innovation as well as a scholarship to learning and teaching and appropriate external activities.
- Lead the production and dissemination of research outputs.
- Lead the design and production of peer-reviewed publications and/or practitioner outputs and/or disseminate research findings using other appropriate media.
- Make presentations at local, national, and international academic and/or practitioner conferences or exhibit work at other appropriate events.
- Supervise research degree students to ensure timely completion and/or undertake the duties of Director of Studies for research degree students to manage timely completion.
Qualification & Experience
- Candidates must hold a PhD in Mass Communications or in a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of teaching and research experience with quality publications in national and international journals.
- Regular and consistent incorporation of innovation into teaching, including the development and implementation of new programmes especially involving innovative methodologies.
- Emerging record of research productivity or evidence of contributing to successful design practice.
- Candidates must possess demonstrable competence to provide academic leadership with evidence of collaborative research work with academics within the university and elsewhere.

- Administrative skills, as well as the ability to develop and lead activities and staff at the university.
- Applicants must be computer Literate with advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suites, etc.

2) Laboratory Technologist (Full-Time & Part-Time):
Job Responsibilities:
Responsibilities
- Applicant must be able to perform pre-class setup of apparatus, reagents, and materials for pharmaceutical practical classes.
- To assist in routine teaching/research laboratory works by performing maintenance and other general maintenance duties.
- To provide general teaching-research support.
- Provide in-class operational support and facilitate the conduct of selected undergraduate practical classes.
- Provide advice on equipment, chemicals, reagents etc, to procure as required by the teaching and research laboratory or projects
- Investigates problems with equipment, test results, specimens, and/or workflow.
- Perform quality control procedures and maintain such records, resolve discrepancies arising from such tests, and document all corrective measures taken.
- Involved in the daily operations, maintenance and upkeep of the laboratories and teaching facilities.
- Prepare documents for safety audits and assist in the update of safety documents.
- Serve as the point of contact for safety communication to students and departmental staff.
- Teach new Technicians and medical students techniques in clinical pharmacology testing.
Qualification & Experience
- Must a holder of B.Sc. in Science Laboratory Technology with a major in Physiology / Pharmacology or any related discipline
- A Master’s Degree in Pharmacology is an added advantage
- At least 4 years of cognate/practical experience in a Medical Laboratory and with good standing in the field of clinical pharmacology, chemical synthesis or analytical methods or molecular biology
- Basic understanding of biosafety and good laboratory practices
- Able to work independently and in a team setting
- Experience in pre-class preparation and running of science laboratory classes will be an advantage.
- Good knowledge of laboratory practices.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving with strong decision-making skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Affiliation with a Professional body
- Must be adept in the use of MS Office Packages.
